In Covid-9 pandemic, independent waste collectors are those who could not afford the social distancing. They have to work every day as their work to collect domestic waste from households located in small streets/alleys among Ho Chi Minh city. Their work has contributed important roles in solid waste management and environment protection as well. of HCMC no choice to stop working to protect their health. Wearing protective clothes and face-masks are the only thing they can do at this time to protect themselves.

Understanding their urgent need, Enda Vietnam has supported more than 2,400 poly masks (have
function of anti-virus) and 1,000 dry antibacterial wash gel for 1,534 Independent waste collectors in district 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc and Nha Be (funding source from USAID).

With our efforts, we do hope that IWCs can be safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Joining hand
together, we believe that we can overcome Covid-19 pandemic in safety!
