GENDER & SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD

In 2002, Enda Vietnam cooperated with the Women’s Studies Department of the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City implemented a pilot project on “Prevention of Domestic Violence in Co Giang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City” to aid women who were victims of domestic violence. In this project, many activities were implemented to raise women’s awareness on gender equity and development, domestic violence and skills for dealing with domestic violence, as well as to provide emotional, physical and financial aid to women through forming some credit- saving groups in the ward and opened vocational services, job creation, recruitment center for poor families and couples in case of violence.

RESEARCH & TRAINING SERVICE

Apart from constant capacity building through training, sharing experiences and workshop in the frame of its projects and the city network, researching and consulting services have seen important to help Enda integrate better its voice and experience in the local and national policymaking process. During the period 2003 – 2013 Enda Vietnam has been conducted various researches by itselves; by joined with other partners such as ALOV-Centre (Association to support overseas Vietnamese for Diapode project; as requested by UNDP’s, World Bank’s, and other different ODA projects.

RURAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Enda Vietnam has been developing an integrated rural development program for different ethnic minorities groups in four provinces: Gia Lai, Daklak, Quang Ngai, and Phu Yen. During the period 1997 –2002 with the financial support of CORDAID. Different types of local partners have been selected to test the proper institutional arrangement for such rural projects. They were the Rubber Company in Gia Lai to promote home-based rubber plantation, Gardening Association and District Agricultural and Rural Development Department in Daklak to promote integrated rural community development, Provincial Department of Science, Technology and Environment together with District Agricultural
